Our computer caught a virus while abroad and hasn't worked great since. Hence, one of the reasons for so few posts since arriving home. Also, we just really have not had a great deal of down time. We have been so busy getting ready for Karina and getting in lots of extra hugs and kisses for our boys. And then throw homeschooling on top of that!
But, here we are, just days away from bringing our daughter home. It has been such a long and weary road, but one we will treasure forever. We are so ready to start down this new path that God has carved for us. We know that things will never be the same. Our "normal" will never be "normal" again. So many changes face us, but we truly embrace them. It is not going to be magical, we are grounded in reality, yet we know that it is going to be beautiful. We have the pleasure of tenderly caring for another tiny seed from God and watch it grow and blossom into a beautiful flower.
Our minds are racing with a million little questions. We wonder what her favorite blanket will be, her favorite food, her favorite toy. Will she like to build tents, just like her brothers? Will she love reading books, enjoy drawing and coloring, playing the piano? Is she going to be a girly-girl or a tom-boy? We are so excited to get to know and love every little thing about our daughter.
So, for those of you wondering, we leave Fresno at 5:45 am on Tuesday, meet Karina at the Dulles Airport at 3:30 pm on Wednesday and arrive home at 2:30 pm on Thursday. We are thankful for a short trip this time. The boys are very anxious and have expressed grave concern over the fact that they do not want us to leave. No matter how many times we have explained to them that this is only a couple of days, I think their little hearts will not be settled until we are home again. Thankfully we have two sets of grandparents that will do all they can to distract them with fun activities.
Please keep us in your prayers as we travel. Pray for our family during this time of transition and change. Thanks for being a part of this amazing ride. We will post an update as soon as we can.
