We have a court date!!!

Sorry we left you in the dark for the past days. It appears that blogger has been blocked for everyone here in petropavlovsk. We have been waiting and waiting, and then waiting some more to find out what our court date would be. Well, a few minutes ago, Valentina, our translator, called and explained that the judge has meetings on Thursday and Friday and would have to move the court date to WEDNESDAY!!!!!. Yes that is THIS Wednesday. We go to court in two days. Unbelievable. We will go to court then have a small party at the orphanage to say our goodbyes and thank the people here who have cared for Karina and helped us with this process. We have been having such a hard time being apart from the boys and we know that they are having a difficult time also, so this is great news for us. So, we can hopefully start our journey south to the embassy and fly out from Almaty on the 23rd, Saturday morning. Please keep all of the families here in Petropavlovsk in your prayers including us in our travels. There are 5 families here in Petro including us. They hail from Colorado, New York, Canada, and one mystery family from the states. Their stories are all different, but we have shared some of the struggles and frustrations. Please pray that the judge will find favor and that Karina is covered by him and gives her peace during this tumultuous time. We can't wait to see all of you, especially Ben and Sam. We love you boys. And we love you all. Thank you so much.

  1. Praise God!!! I'm very happy that court was moved sooner - that doesn't often happen. You'll have to write that one down in your history book - something happened SOONER than it was supposed to. LOL. The departure from Karina will be bitter sweet. I'll pray for you. Her little heart will be protected. She's old enough to understand the caregivers when they reassure her daily that she'll be coming home with you soon enough! I can't wait to talk to you tomorrow and hear about court. Sending hugs your way!!!
