It is Christmas Eve in Kaz. This is the first white Christmas I have ever enjoyed. It started to snow today and has been pretty heavy since. It is supposed to be -27 degrees tomorrow, but the wind makes it feel so much colder. So, Merry Christmas to all.
Today, after our visit with Karina, we scrambled about town getting papers translated and notarized. We printed pictures of us playing with Karina for court and purchased some clothes for her when she leaves the orphanage. We had no idea how expensive the clothes would be. We spent $80 on one sweater, two t-shirts, boots, underwear and socks. I miss Walmart! We still have to buy her pants and a jacket, but just in the nick of time, our new friends, Cindy and Domminick, are coming to the rescue. Domminick is returning to Kaz in a few days and will bring us our necesseties. That should save us quite a bit of money, so thanks LaJoys!
Tomorrow we look forward to a home cooked meal at the LaJoy's apartment. I don't think they know how much it means to us. What a lovely way to celebrate Christmas in Kazakhstan.
